About PawGearPicks
Who writes this, how products get picked, and what we won't do.
What PawGearPicks is
PawGearPicks is a small, independently owned comparison site focused on one category at a time — right now, automatic pet feeders. It's run by one person, not an editorial team, and I think that's worth saying plainly rather than dressing the site up to look like a bigger operation than it is.
How products get chosen
I don't have a physical testing lab, and I'm not going to claim otherwise. Here's the actual process:
- Pull current price, star rating, and total review count directly from each product's live Amazon listing.
- Filter out anything with a thin review history, a suspicious rating pattern, or frequent stock/discontinuation issues.
- Compare what's left across real spec differences — capacity, connectivity, battery backup, portion control — rather than marketing copy.
- Rank by genuine value at each price tier, and revisit the list periodically to swap out anything that's dropped in rating or gone out of stock.
How the site makes money
PawGearPicks participates in the Amazon Associates program. If you click a link on this site and buy something on Amazon — the product I linked or anything else in that shopping session — I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's the only way this site makes money. No brand pays for placement, and no product review is sponsored.
